About

Blogoworld is about discovering blogs where the crowd of readers are. By the word crowd, it could mean tens of thousands of readers to several million readers.

So how do we know where the crowd are? There are a few well known tools out there like feedburner reader count, technorati rank, google page rank and alexa traffic rank which gives a measure of the blog popularity. Although they may not be as accurate as we want them to be, they serve as a comfortable guide.

Besides looking for the crowd at popular blogs, blogoworld will also include posts on blogs which makes interesting reading or viewing. A mix of a few off beat topic will be bring some colours to blogoworld.

If you know of any blog that is a crowd puller, please use the “Suggest Link” page to inform us. The link is right at the top of this page. We’d be delighted to hear from you.

Thank you for your interest. I am C.W. the founder of this blog. Writing is something I find very difficult to do. I am an Engineer by training and I have a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. For nearly the first ten years of my working life, I worked as a programmer. I love to write programs. I loose sense of time when I code. However, when it comes to writing the documentation part of programming, I am normally a man of a few words and I don’t have much to write about. I do not do justice to the length of the program and the documentation is normally much shorter than expected. Writing in code is not a problem to me, but writing in human language makes me uncomfortable and I usually experience unexplained stress levels. It is a short coming I have which I believe has to be and can be overcomed.

Writing programs for machines to understand and to work properly is a fun and interesting job. It gives me great satisfaction to see the programs running. However, I believe that writing to communicate with other fellow human being is even more meaningful. Both may be able to provide solutions to existing problems, but writing in programming language only makes the machine complete but writing in human language makes the man complete.

As I do not wish to spend my entire life writing for computer machines, this is my attempt in writing to a living audience. For the next ten years of my work life, I will attempt to gradually shift from code to articles, functions to paragraphs and syntax to sentences. The Blogoworld is just the perfect place to start. Being a programmer has taught me a lot about machines. By being a writer I hope to develop effective communications and writing skills that will bring forth value and contribute to the growth and development of the world of blogs.
